[s-cars] clean but sputtering

Just in case you try the things everybody has posted and you still have the
problem, don't despair. I once had this problem after cleaning the engine
and after drying everything I could think of, the problem persisted. After
about 4 or 5 days, it cleared up on it's own. I have since cleaned the
engine with no problems.

I was inspired by all the talk of clean engine compartments last week and
decided to spray mine down.  Now it is not running right.  It seems to be
fine cold but after a couple miles seems to start to miss under
acceleration.  It's fine during deceleration.  I was thinking that I just
got something wet and it was no big deal but it does not seem to be getting
better.  Then I notice in the owners manual that you should not use a high
pressure hose.  I only used a regular hose but could I have damaged
something?  Are there easy ways to troubleshoot?
