Jeff,
I was told by Tom at Carolina Clutch that you have to be very careful not to get shavings inside the 2 halves of the flywheel and they usually aren't very worn because the dual mass absorbs a lot of the initial impact when releasing the clutch. When I did my clutch at 114k miles I just cleaned the flywheel up with emery cloth. It didn't have any grooving at all. I just cleaned off the shiny coating. It seems to be working fine. No clutch chatter or anything weird.
