How?  IMU with grinding, you use a magnet or other hold down device, and have
a stone do the work.  I suppose it could be done this way, but IMO you run
into the same problems you have with a chuck type, only in a different plane.

Not enough information here.  Typically, flywheel resurfacing is done on a
lathe.  Correct?  Depends.
