[s-cars] Isn't there a better way...

I'm also an advocate of staying with the mailing list, rather than a Audi-world-eqsque web based bulliten board. I doubt I would be an active member of this community if it moved to a pure web-interface.

I do miss the search and web-interface to the list that yahoogroups offered (but I don't miss the ads and junk mail). Perhaps we can convince Dan (perhaps through some paypal grease) to look into upgrading his web interface to include easier web-acess to the archives and search capability, etc.

Dan, is this a possibility?

Keith

There's a qualitative diffence in the quality of community on email lists
versus webboard discussion groups. With email lists, subscribers are
somewhat more committed to the quality of the interaction, while with
webboards, people frequently conduct "driveby" postings - posting something
interesting/useless/nasty and then never come back to see the results.

IMCO (and I've been managing mailing lists since 1995), nothing is broken
here. We've got a nice little community that is dedicated to sharing
information with one another, and it works. Move it to a different type of
technical infrastructure and you put that community at risk.
