[s-cars] Speed Sensor (G28) code

While using the VAG-COM, I found a DTC code indicating that the Speed Senso=
r (G28) has "No Signal".  I ordered a replacement part from the dealer (onl=
y $35CDN).  However, the replacement part does not appear to be a match of =
the part according to an engine diagram that I have in an Audi Training Ser=
vice Manual for the 20V Turbo Motronic system.

Also the manual indicates that if G28 is not working then the car will not =
start.  Therefore it must be working -- at least intermittantly?  Or is the=
 DTC from the VAG-COM in error somehow?  This sensor reads from the flywhee=
l starter gear (135 teeth).

Not sure what part the dealer has provided me... it kind of looks like the =
"Intake Air Temp Sensor" but I will need to investigate that further.

Any advice would be appreciated,
