Hey Guys,

I've been fixing up some of the "deferred maintenance" items on my car, and
last week I replaced the front wheel bearings. The front left was
particularly bad, but the right front was marginal. The rears are still
groaning just a little bit, but overall, the car runs quietly now like a
luxury sports sedan should. So, I figured it was time to put tires on it.
I have a set of MAS MGRs in 18x8 (ET37) that I bought from Discount Tire
Direct used last winter. They came with some junk tires which were noisy
and rough and nearly kaput (AVS Intermediates IIRC). So, I bought a set of
the new Yokohama ES100 AVS high performance tires in 255/35-18. Some of the
midsize Audis came from the factory with 255/40-17 (I've seen a V8 A6 Avant
at the GM proving grounds with that size tire) so I figured the 255/35-18
should work since it has the same OD and width. It does. It looks great
and rides extremely well compared to most high performance tires I have
experienced. These are definitely the smoothest low profile tires I have
ever driven even compared to the 235-45-17 Nitto NT555s I had on my V8.
They are quiet too which is better than the Nittos which were a great
general purpose tire but were noisy when they were new.

I'll post a photo when I get a chance.
