Well, I'm still trying to wake up after the marathon weekend.  Lst
monday I was trolling all the ads online, looking for that elusive S6
Avant I've always wanted.  Found a small ad on AutoTrader for a 95.5 S6
Avant.  Worked backwards and realized it was from Sunset Imports
(Porsche/Audi) in Portland, OR.  Asked the price and thought it looked
very good.  Gary Erickson in Portland offered to look at it for me.  On
Thurday he sent me his report, with 30 pictures and a 4pp Word document
detailing all of the good (all good) and the bad (what bad, there wasn't
any).  I immediately got on the horn with the dealer, gave them a
deposit and on Friday night Jim Bonnet and I drove up to Portland form
the Bay Area in a rental.  Arrived at the dealer at 5:30 am, didn't see
my car, assumed it was inside,  In the lot though were 2 other S6 Avants
for service.  I don't think I've ever seen 3 S6 Avants in one place.
The dealership opened at 9am, I met Doug Sutton, looked at the car,
handed over the check and we were on the road by 10 am.  Dropped the
rental off and headed back, making it home by 8pm or so.
Anyway, so the car is 1995.5 S6 Avant (Sept 95 build).  Black over
Ecru.  NO dings, one tiny scratch on one door.  55500 miles.  Original
owner bought it at Sunset and had it serviced there its whole life, I
have copies of all of the internal Sunset receipts. (You'd be amazed (or
not) at the markups they have on some parts.....), traded it on a
Porsche and they decided to sell it rather than wholesale it off.
Anyway, it has the sport wheel, EDL and 16" Avus's.  I am thrilled and
trying to figure out how to transfer all the RS2 stuff from my S4 to
this before Laguna Seca next month.....

Anyway, I will be selling my 1993 S4 next month (Green/Ecru, 110k miles,
overall very clean, a little bit of roadrash on the front, no accidents,
all records from new, 10CD, Eibach/Bilstein, 16" Avus with new tires OR
16" 5spokes with snows.
