[s-cars] Rear window and struts

The rear window is definitely NOT dealer only, but you
should be aware that the quality & pricing of the glass
varies from vendor to vendor (and most 3rd party glass will
not have the AM/FM antenna integrated). The first question
is: do you have comprehensive? Does it automatically cover
glass breakage? (In Florida, there is a rule/law that glass
breakage is automatically covered with no deductible under
comprehensive, irrelevant of how high your deductible is
set). If the insurance company is paying for the glass, use
the dealer glass to replace it.
If not, and money is tight, then get on the phone in the
morning and call each and every glass place in town to
quote you a price -- someone will have a price about $40
lower than the rest: he's the one the rest of them will be
getting the glass from, because he's the only one with it
in stock and the rest have to send someone over to pick it
up (or order it in).
Note the following: (A) Dealer glass has a UV protection
layer in it; third party glass normally won't.
(B) Dealer will not come out to do the install where ever
the car is (and will charge for the labor); third party
glass installers will come to the car, like when you're at
work (and calculate the labor & trip in the cost of the
glass).
(C) The dealer glass is the better quality material.
(D) If you live on a budget, call around to the junk yards.
Glass is glass and the only thing you really need to do is
replace the seals with new ones if going with used original
glass.
As for struts -- any discount auto, auto zone, etc. About
$15 - $25 each.
Good Luck!
