[s-cars] RE: MTM ECU Problem

My old 94 S4 had problems with the check engine light
after I did the upgrade form Ned at IA. The car always
ran fine but the light would not go out. The dealer
told me I had a bad ECU and they see that from people
who have done chip upgrades in the past. The code is a
bad ground to ECU related to soldering issues. I
called Ned and he mentioned he has seen it before on
some cars, but didn't feel it was related to his work.
It would occassionally go out in warm weather. Since
the car ran Ok I didn't pursue it further. I just
figured I would not buy his setup again. I now have a
MTM upgrade in the S6 avant, with no problems.

Yeah, that sound familiar. The repeated stalling,
starting, stalling
is the
same thing I experienced. When I visited with the
mechanic last night,
he
started the car and rapped on the ECU with his
knuckle, the car died.
Sounds like the same problem.

I will report back to the list when I know more.
