Hi all,
Well, as I notice some of you are experiencing ECU problems, I thought I'd
chime in and share some thoughts...
I am what can be named a chip tuner, which means I know how to modify
correctly a chipset for UrS cars and I also know about as much as one could
ever know regarding what these chips can contain, these cars are actually
my hobby and the main cars I tune. The check engine light issue can either
be due to :
-bad checksum in the ECU chips (not calculated correctly)
-chips not made on basis of the ECU number you guys are running (which is
bad because there are several software versions depending on the car's
equipment and chips aren't the same in their "firmware" part)
The stalling problem can be due to one of the chips that pops out of its
socket, this can happen, especially for UrS ECUs that don't have sockets
from the factory, some of them had them by the way, and all ECUs that had
sockets fitted from the factory also had some plastic retaining clips for
the chips, which ensure they won't ever pop out.
Hope this helps,
Mihnea
