If you are getting thick oil smoke at idle, then oil is seeping past
your rings and/or valves. I doubt that it is specifically a "turbo"
problem, but the added boost pressure from the turbo may be
exaggerating the sealing issue for the rings or valves. First
suggestion: do a leak down test on each cylinder to try to find the
culprit (pressurizes the cylinder while it's sealed and then looks for
loss of pressure over time).
Cheers!

Greetings
I have a problem that is becoming worse by the
day. Engine: ADU, rebuilt professionally, going well
Problem: clouds of thick oil smoke, was only occassional on
start up a while ago, now every time you pull up and go
into idle. Once power is on and oil pressure is up no
smoke, runs perfectly. It is a turbo problem but the turbo
has been out three times and checked by the KKK agent,
swears it is perfect. He says it must be the oil drain to
the sump, that has been checked, sump removed etc. Could
this be a build of pressure in the sump preventing the oil
draining out??? Any suggestions??
