Well guys...looks like the cable is broke in half down near the physical door latch mechanism. I didnt get in deep enough to see what else is needed besides a new cable...anyone have experience here?
Cheers

It's pretty easy if you know where all the secret screws are. You have to
pry the cover off the angled door handle, it pops right out(screw 1). A
couple around the door, I believe by the A-pillar and one at the bottom
rear. Don't forget the one behind the door latch itself. I think that's all
of them. I would double check the whole panel.
Once all the screws are off, you'll have to pull the plastic door latch
liner and mechanism out. Once the liner is out you can see if the latch is
attached to the hook and cable(well actually only the cable part). While
pushing the panel in a bit, pull up and back. The door has slots where the
door panel slides in and down at a slight angle. Once the panel is free, set
it down right there, speaker wires to contend with. Here you should see the
cable and hook.
The hard part is putting everything in and back on the door. Grab the cable
and test fit the latch and cable and note how it goes back on(there is a
clip that goes on the cable and latch to help lock it into position). Take
the cable off. Now if you have a small set of vise grips you can lift the
panel, slide the cable through the opening, grip it with the vise grips, so
the cable doesn't slide back into the door.
This is where a third hand is helpful but there usually never around. When
you put the panel back on, make sure the door lock slides thru the opening
on the top of the panel before you push the panel back on(BTDT). Once the
lock is thru the opening, you'll be about an inch or 2 above the original
panel position. Push the panel towards the door, this is where it gets
tricky, I pushed in at the arm rest part with one hand and pushed down
slightly with the other hand at the top of the panel, then moved the top
hand down to the lower half of the panel to make sure all the slots were
slide into the slots all the way around.
Then re-attach the the cable to the latch and screw back down.
Sorry, not a techical writer, so if you need more clearer details let me
know. HTH
