I thought I'd lend some of my human engineering experiences with type of
guages in responce to your request. Most people are bewildered when they look
into the cockpit of a commercial or military aircraft. I have heard countless
people say, "how do you kep track of all those guages?" Well, we don't, is
the simple answer. What we do keep track of is the orientation of the needles
and indicators. In the newer glass cockpits wih CRTs, engineer's gave us
digital readouts of everything. They also installed a sweep hand needle so we
could sense the relative position of the indication.

In your case with the digital boost guage its going to take some time for
your brain to read the boost then figure out what that means. That's why I
prefer a conventional sweep hand display with 20psi at 12 o'clock so I can
sense my boost from my peripheral vision without taking my eyes off the road.
That's also why I prefer the A-pillar position for the mounting. With this
setup its just a matter of sensing where that needle is in relation to 12
o'clock. The best of both worlds would be a sweep hand guage with a digital
readout for fine tuning. I think Spa makes one.

This is a long answer to your initial request or comment but I'd advise you
to get that guage up on the A-pillar or somewhere where you don't have to
take your eyes off the road to see it.

Hap, readin them guages in Everboost, Maguire
