You may need a "break-in" period, but it still shouldn't slip from the
beginning and then stop doing it. This is the same thing as with new
brake pads / shoes, you need to use them more gently at first so you
wear off the high spots, etc.
One would assume that a "road test" by a shop after installation of
a new clutch would not include high rpm starts and such. Therefore
their report of "clutch slippage" is assumed to be under normal
use conditions. If it wasn't, it speaks poorly for the shop.
