A chip will give you only about 10-15hp, and then you'll have to run
premium fuel all the time.
The only way to add that much power, is by forced induction, I'm
afraid.. The 'normal way' is by compressor, (pretty crammed down there)
but it will cost you rear or in the range you describe.
Sorry, but the 2.7tt is a much more willing object, even if it hasn't
got the nice sound of the V8.. I guess an RS6 engine (or the neuS4's
340hp 4.2V8) from a wreck in some year is a better approach.)
As a final note; Do you think that _one_ neuA6 is able to replace
_three_ S6's? My oh my.. You'll surely end up with a i5 soon again.. ;o)
Bjorn :o)
'92 S4 (My first Audi, owned for three years, two months and 10 days,
but who's counting.. ;o))

I am considering to buy a 2002 A6 4.2 to replace my S6's. Does anyone
have or know of someone that has experience in making more horsepower
with the 4.2 engine? Chip? I only wish for a bit more 350 - 375 would be
nice without spending $6000 to do so. My three S6's are for sale as a
result.
Thanks,
Tim Leonard
