Nope, completely self contained. You make two connections between the
existing wiring and the Catz kit - the 12v positive lead from the bulb and
ground. Everything else is contained within the kit.

Two PITAs - first, finding a place for the ballast (under and behind the
light on the passenger side, inside the fender on the driver's side for me)
and the size of the back end of the bulb. The back part of the bulb comes
into contact with the cover and on one of my lamps (the left one), it's
difficult to close the cover. I'm concerned about cracking the hard plastic
bulb base, and next time would probably cut the hole for the 1" grommet
directly behind the bulb to give it more clearance.

Otherwise, the installation was a piece of cake.

I still haven't lobotomized the bulb-out sensor tho :)
