The METAL clips are held to the PLASTIC with 2 of those little plastic tabs
that they melt over to form a bolt ( for lack of better terms). My just fell
off one hot summer day, all by itself.
My fix was cleaning everything off, scratching up the plastic under the tab
and the bottom of the tab . Then using nice sticky construction adhesive, I
blobbed it all back together. Not fancy, but I had the cover on order for a
few months and it never came in, so I had to take action :-)

Damn Audi designers... There certainly is a smarter way to build that I am
sure.
