I actually sent an e-mail to tap last night.
I got a reply this morning, WOW !

They told me to send them back to them and they would sent them to bilstein.
I don't like the idea of buying NEW shocks, I should not have to.

I have found some nice prices on new ones though :)

  I wouldn't at those (shox.com) prices. Bilstein warrantee service isn't =
the fastest, nor is the retail seller gonna enjoy the experience (pulling t=
eeth?). Even at retail, I only consider Bilstein exchange for customers th=
at bought both the shock and the install from me. The wholesale to retail =
spread (read: narrow) on Bilsteins doesn't help.

Mark, I'd suggest going thru TAP. The worst that happens is you spent a =
couple bux more in the attempt. You *must* buy new shocks before the warra=
ntee is even considered anyway.

  Thanks, Robert.
I bought my set from ( hiding head in shame ) TAP, somehow I don't think =
they will be all that forthcoming with such kinds of generous acts.
If I were to call Shox.com I wonder if they would stand behind the warran=
ty ?
