[s-cars] Here we go again !

Ok, here is what I have done.
I went against all rules and did a few mods at once, so I don't know what
did what but...

I pulled out the screens on the MAF, boy that was easy should have done it
sooner.
Sidenote: Not much of a venturi there, at all.

I noticed an oil film so I carefully cleaned the MAF, yes it's fine. I
continued by cleaning the other hoses and checking the endplay on the turbo.
Then I got to this tiny little part on the intake manifold, the throttle
body. God it's small.
What's up with all this big MAF, FMIC, 3" tubing etc. and all we have is
this little excuse for a throttle body.
Humm, it's gotta go. There has to be a bosch unit we can sub.
Anyways back to the story, so I look into the TB, low and behold it's
filthy.
So off it comes for some dunk and a cleaning. Then I see it, a WEDGE shape
on top of the throttle plate.
Looks like a ramp, gotta be 1/2" thick at the end of it.
This just CAN'T be good for flow. So, off it comes.

The end result is.. Great throttle response, fast spool-up, and very nice
2nd and 3rd gear pulls.
Due to the Bilstein effect I was unable to attempt a 4th or 5th gear pull.
My fluctuating boost gauge has settled down also.
The only side effect I can see is a slight bog when opening the throttle to
rev, just if you blip the throttle.

I just now the PURIST'S and ENGINEERS are gonna scream at me for screwing
with the air stream, but I have not seen any real part throttle problems,
and it just HAS to flow more air. Hap, what are you running on that monster
of yours ?

I will certainly post any further effects on this. NOTE: If anyone does this
mod, be SURE to plug the two holes in the butterfly plate with a screw and
nut and locktite or peen the threads a bit. VERY important.
