[s-cars] Bilstein UPDATE - for those who care.

Just a quick post to update the bilstein saga.
- to recap, bought set of 4 chocks from TAP 4 years ago, about 50,000 KM.
Right front NFG at 100 MPH, leaking oil.

Response from TAP ( very quick to boot)
- Remove and send in the shocks and we will send to CA. No problem's
- I suggest the buy new set idea, they say SURE about 136 each . OUCH.
- Then I send the old ones back to them for them to send to Bilstein

Response from Bilstein. (also very prompt)
- Fax us a copy of the bill, we will call you next to get Visa number.
- Their offer is to send me a new shock, billed at half the retail to my
visa card.
- Once they determine the shock is bad, they will credit my card. If they
determine the shock is ok, no further charges.

All in all I feel it's a very good solution, I am happy with both companies
TAP and Bilstein.
I can understand why TAP would have to sell me a new set, but they also
would look after getting the old ones to Bilstein and would credit my card
back when the old ones where found defective.
I am a bit concerned with only doing 1 shock, but that is Bilstein's
solution and far be it for me to question it .
