Sean,
OK first of all why do you guys keep going to the Dealer? You pay twice as
much and get half the job, at least this is how my dealer works and they have
some award winning Audi mechanic. I have a friend/mechanic who lets me use
his shop and his knowledge to work on our cars. I still pay him but it is a
fraction of the cost of the dealer. In fact a couple of the people I had to
save a Road America last year with blown IC hoses are now driving up hear
from Lansing to get work done on there cars by my mechanic (4 hr drive). One
just put a 6 speed in ($550 from my guy, $1500 from dealer) and the other got
the timing belt and clutch replaced ($650 from my guy, at least $1500 from
dealer).
Anyway to the fuel tank leak. Did you see the leak? Did it only leak when
tank was full? My wife just had this on her S-6 Avant and it ended up being a
rubber cap on the top of the tank that finally let go. New cap was $1.25 and
labor was $55. I hope this is not what your leak is at this point.

Elijah
