[s-cars] Tire considerations - Heat, et al. - advice sought

Good morning,

On the often talked about topic of tires...

I'm in the market for some tires and have read the older posts about Toyo
Proxes T1-S and
have some concerns. I'm also considering Kumho ECSTA Supra 712, Kuhmo MX,
Falken FK-451,
Falken Azenis ST115, and even some others.

My priorities are Dry Handling, Road Noise and comfort, Price (including
"price to own", 8k mile life
expectancy is not good but I don't want to sacrifice too much handling for
treadwear) in that order.

I could care less about Snow traction, and minimally about wet (but it's
always nice when you need it), I live in a desert.

Here are my concerns with the Toyo's. Some of the reviews I've read
indicate some chunking due to the soft tread compound. Which is great for
stickyness, but I'm moving to Phoenix (hula shirt and all) and it get's
F-ing hot there. Granted, most of the year it's not hell's front door, but
I don't want to destroy a set of tires with some spirited, ECU retarded,
detonation avoiding, hotter than pants on fire ambient temperature driving
one summer's day.

The Colorado mafia seems to like the Toyo's, but it rarely gets over 100 in
Denver.

So, with all that said, I request advice. Which tire to get? How much will
an additional 20 degrees affect a max performance tire?

BTW, I've looked around at a lot of dealers and found
	http://www.onlinetires.com
to be VERY well priced. Their prices include shipping and beat every other
vendor I've looked at by a significant margin.
No affiliation, yada, yada.
