[s-cars] Longevity and Replacement parts

That may be so concerning the parts and prices of MBenz parts, but I
can vouch for the factory standing behind the product. When my MB
4matic transfer case went at 120,000 something miles, the dealer quoted
an 8 to 10 thousand price fix. I talked to the factory rep who
immediately called the dealer and put in a free transfer case. No
arguing, just satisfaction. Contrast that to the Audi factory line
regarding the dealer crashing pistons and valves during his attempt at
a timing belt fix...Audi said as the car was off warranty they did not
want to get involved, and stood completely behind the dealer. I guess
they mean...REALLY, REALLY FAR BEHIND THE DEALER.

Car is scheduled to be fixed finally after over four months of sitting,
as their lawyer agreed to have the car restored and give a full
powertrain warranty, transferrable on sale and not at this particular
dealer. The dealer promised the car will be "perfect", but the boss
(wife --same number of letters, does that mean something) wants no
further part of the car.

Hope to be driving it again soon, at least long enough to get out the
kinks to sell it.
