Thanks to all who helped me with my questions about fixing the outside air
temp display backlight.  The cluster came out with little trouble - the
disconnecting of the harness being the hardest part.  The OAT display was
removed and dissected.  I had to take the circuit board to a friend, as I
did not have a soldering iron small enough for the job, but we got the old
bulb out and a new one in with some finagling.  Reassembled in reverse order
and went for a test drive.  Voila, I can see the outside temp again.

Unfortunately, now the odometer and trip meter display is dark.  So, either
I didn't get one of the connections on the harness right, I jiggled a bulb
loose with all the activity, or that bulb chose this time to commit suicide.
I haven't pulled the cluster yet, but wanted to ask the assembled wisdom -
what bulb lights up that display.  Is it the same small "grain of wheat"
bulb that I just put in the OAT?  I have another as they come two to a pack.
