> How to make certain aftermarket rim hubs fit our cars ?

Tom, it looks like some of the well-meaning replies got sidetracked from the
simplicity of your question. The problem isn't with the hub, the problem is
with the knowledge of these cars by wheel/tire vendors. I have known Audi
dealers that didn't even know of the existence of the UrS, much less had any
detailed knowledge about them. Even TireRack initially balked at my first
request for 245/40-17 because they didn't know enough about our car to
understand what would fit the car.

Bottom line: assuming you haven't modified the brakes, any 16"+ Audi factory
wheel (not TT) or any 16"+ aftermarket wheel intended for Audi (not TT) will
fit. My suggestion when browsing online catalogs is to blow-off searching
by the UrS and instead search by A6 2.7t or S4. This will give you the
widest selection of wheels and will also give you a wheel that has a good
chance of fitting under big brakes, if you ever decide to do that (and you
should).

Another data point for guys trying to squeeze big brakes under 16" wheels.
I just test-fit the OEM UrS4 five-spoke on my A6 2.7t and the spoke scraped
the HP-2 caliper. However, the OEM (Speedline) A6 2.7t six-spoke sport
wheel gives an additional 1cm of spoke clearance. The A6 wheels look nice
and have the nice brake clearance, but they are only 7.5" wide and of
course, they are not forged. Still, they might be an option worth
considering for some of you trying to run big brakes without spacers. A set
just popped-up on eBay, but didn't sell. FYI.

The wheels I'm talking about are on this car for sale at Kar:
