[s-cars] HUGE Brakes

Rotor fade w/ the ECS 314 mm kit, if your fluid is fresh and pads are properly
bedded, is likely the result of the kit using an Audi OEM rotor--they are
thick, heavy, great for sinking the heat of the first stop, but poorly vented
(to reject the heat) for the subsequent stops. Your best way around this is to
move to a 2-piece rotor & hat assembly, ideally one using a Porsche 993tt rotor
(though this moves you up to 322 mm rotor). But if you're getting this on the
street, may I suggest you save it for the track and try another driving style
on the street?

FWIW, you can easily beat the price of the ECS 322 kit by using the Audi A8L
(323 x 30) rotor and the same 993tt (non-monobloc) caliper over RS2 brackets.
Unfortunately, this is still an Audi OEM rotor, with the same issues noted
above. But $1100 vs. $1850 and judicious use of the brakes = lotsa smiles to
the bank.

BTW, what's with ECS's site on the 314 kit? It says in the text, Monobloc
caliper and shows a pic of the Monobloc, but in the details of the kit, it
mentions the 993tt caliper.
