that's because the cars are running the non-drive ends stiff and the
drive ends soft to get more bite coming out of corners.  in an FWD vehicle,
they run the fronts soft and add a lot of rear roll stiffness to help the
front wheels get traction accelerating out of corners.  it also helps
rotate the car under braking.  in a RWD vehicle, you run less roll stiffness
in the rear (or more in the front) to get more traction under acceleration.
the tradeoff is that you usually get a car that pushes, but in a car that
handles as well as a 944, it's not as much of a problem.
