[s-cars] Champion Racing RS6: Speaking of Fram Filters...

All of this has reminded me, I haven't gotten in my weekly plug, if you want a real filter go to Mecca, Canton Mecca.

One will outflow 4 Fram HP1's. You replace the filter element, it is a depth filter not a surface filter, it doesn't bypass. It is an 8 micron element. The element is over 4" long. It is a direct spin on replacement for a stock filter.
The bad, it cost's around $10 for each replacement filter.

The filter appeared to be exactly what you'd get over the counter, plus companys like Fram don't usually tend to make different products with the same exact part #, of course I can't say exactly for sure, but there is no reason to think any different.
Some of the failures of Fram filters I've heard of dealt with internal failure of the element, not just "less than ideal" filtering, that the filter failed in a fundamental way causing debris and pressure loss inside the motor.
Of course, most cars out there are running Fram filters as well, so sponsorship may have something to do with it.
