[s-cars] Fuel Filter replacement

You know, I replaced mine about two months ago. I pulled it up on the
driveway, let it sit and cool down for a few hours and then changed it out.
It was full of fuel and a bunch of it trickled out, but I didn't have any
"spraying" problem. Just simply loostened the nuts and replaced it. Easy
job.

Later,
Dan

Let the car to run until it stall with the fuel pump fuse pulled out to
remove most of the pressure. It will save the 3-4 showers you'll need to
remove the gas smell from your hair. You can also choose the full helmet
or NBC cloth route but I think the first one is simpler.

Even with the pressure lowered, safety glass and rags are required.

Vincent.

Dan,

Common wisdom indicates:
Only work on a very cooled down engine
Be sure to use new copper washers
Cover the line-filter interfaces with a absorbant rag, as the gas line
pressure will push out fuel until pressure reduces.
Wear saftey goggles, gas masks, use EPA approved work space, observe all
OSHA rules, blah blah.
Make sure the orientation of the filter is correct . (Arrow indicates
flow)
Reverse instructions for installation , YMMV now.

Enjoy the beer when complete.

Listeners: I am going to replace the fuel filter on my 95.5 S6 for the
first time. Other than just unbolting the old and reinstalling the new
one, is there anything unusual that I should be aware of before starting
this procedure? Any BTDTs

TIA

Dan
