This is something I have done myself. If the boot is torn and there is still
some grease in the joint, there is no reason to replace the joint unless dirt
got in there. The procedure is fairly easy. Buy boot kit (new boot, center
bolt, circlip, 2 clamps) Remove center bolt with car on ground and helper
stepping on brake, remove tire, undo inner joint bolts, pull ABS sensor just
a litte, turn wheel to left (for right boot), and pull out joint. Press
joint out using old center bolt, clean joint, slide on new boot, regrease,
attach clamps, clean and regrase inner joint, install.
I think those are all the steps.
