Give the man a cigar! That's basically what they "didn't tell me" when I
pushed on this issue also a year or so ago. They had standing orders from
everyone from Amazon.com to the little guys(me) and yet seemed unconcerned.
Note that some newer manuals are only released on CD. It's obviously a more
profitable endeavor, both in production and warehousing/distribution.

A look at Bentley's tech chat
section(http://tech.bentleypublishers.com/forum.jspa?forumID=28&start=0)
shows our own Chris Miller has spent lots of (presumably Bentley's) time
answering questions with

"Our paper manual is out of print right now, but some vendors have it. The
CD version is in stock."
