I'm no expert on this, but I'd guess (and it's only a guess) that the analog
phones are easier to clone.

Bluetooth is wonderful. It's a great new icon on my phone that doesn't do
squat for me :)
Someday it will.
In the meantime...I'd evaluate service first...IME, in the Northeast,
Verizon is generally the best WRT service coverage, but some areas have
better coverage from other suppliers. That having been said, I moved from
Verizon to ATT GSM to take advantage of a $100/unlimited plan. Still kinda
regret it, even though I now have a cool new bluetooth icon.
Integrating the phone takes some work...and it can only be integrated so
far. I had heard that Audi had a kit to allow the integration of a Nokia
phone, but ICBW.
I use a Nokia with the Nokia carkit (CARK91) and an external antenna. The
existing antenna on your car may not be directly compatible with a digital
service. Ouch. I actually use a small disk antenna from Hirschmann that
mounts inside the glass and is invisible from the outside. I've also tied
the carkit into the existing speaker and the stereo mute (there's a writeup
about this on audiworld.com). However, I have heard that the A piller
mounted microphone is not compatible, so I use the external mic that came
with the carkit. I use a Panavise bracket to mount the carkit to the right
of the center console.
