Hi,
Well Thursday myself and a friend of mine that also happens to be my
mechanic took off for Toronto to meet up with a company called JRP and one of the Cat
Cam reps who was in town on business and was going to do my adjustable cam
install. JRP lined up a shop and a dyno for before and after testing and
schedualed me for Friday. Well, as we all have seen Toronto lost power Thursday. We
were just crossing the border at Port Huron when we heard on the radio about
the blackouts. We quickly found a gas station and filled up (thank god). We
decided to go for it anyway and hope for the best. Well, for those of you that
live in big city's and have driven around when there is no power you know how
strange it is. We couldn't see anything but the road in front of us. Luckily we
brought the GPS so we were able to make our way to the shop and then found a
hotel that had rooms but no power. That was defiantly better than sleeping in
the car or on the curb beside JRP. Anyway to make a long story short power came
back on here and there the next day but none of the shops had power and the
guy that was going to do the install got delayed. So I drove 16 hours round trip
for pretty much nothing. Friday when we decided to leave we were lucky to
still have enough gas to get out of there because the few gas stations that got
power back were either out running out of gas or had a 50 or so cars lined up
down the road waiting to get in. On the highway there was a tanker just driving
from car to car that ran out of gas and was charging very high prices to fill
them up. Needless to say the cops were very busy and the highway was pretty
clear making for a fun ride back to the border. We had a Mustang Cobra and a
Mustang SVT pacing with us but when we all hammered it from around 80mph I just
watched there lights get smaller and smaller as we pulled away from them. I
love doing that to Mustangs! The air temp was in the 90's and I had the water
injection on the whole way back to the border. It worked great and the car
stayed at very reasonable temps. Sorry to bore you with this long story but I had
to tell someone other than the wife about it.

Elijah
