Sandy;

I had the same problem - it was a bad ballast. Swap the ballasts to
confirm - if the problem moves to the passenger side, it's the ballast.

Subject: [s-cars] HID Goofiness

symptoms: Driverside HID headlight blinks out while
driving or fails to come on at all. HOWEVER, when it
does come on, it's just like nothing is wrong ( bulb
has proper brightness, intensity, etc).

Is this a balast issue? Maybe underhood heat related?
I would have thought a bad connection but I've
witnessed the headlight NOT blinking out while driving
over some fairly rough Washington DC Metro area
pavement.

Any BTDT's before i start disassembling and futzing
around?

Sandy
