[s-cars] strange antilock behavior

Scott,

When your pads squeal, this is due to vibration that isn't being damped. Sometimes this vibration can also cause noise in the wheel speed sensors, which can confuse ABS, especially at low speeds.

I suggest both Scott and Dave perform what Pizzo suggests, and make sure your ABS sensors are firmly seated. If one feels loose, perhaps some VERY light application of a sticky spray might help hold it in better.

Cheers,
Keith

Joe, et al,
This started happening with my car after the Big
Blacks went on and only at the final few feet of a
light stop when the pads/(or something) were
squealing.
Does the squeal confuse the sensors? Or would any
type of ABS action indicate a sensor problem?
