That's not a 426 Hemi? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that
was a 426 in the Dart- I know exactly the car you're talking about-
aluminum front end, no rear seats, etc., built for NHRA drag racing.

That was not really a production car, IIRC- anyone know the production
numbers of that Dart? Then again, that's kind of like saying the COPO
cars weren't production, which they were. Or the '70 and '71 Hemi Cuda
convertibles.

455 was the largest stock engine IIRC, but you can fit
quite a bit larger. I know that there are 602s out there.

Gents-

IIRC, the '68 or so Dodge Dart came with a factory optional Hemi that
was larger than 455... the one with the factory fiberglass (or was it
aluminum) panels, tubbed rear end and carved fenders for larger slicks,
etc. Damn I should pay more attention when I'm watching American Muscle
Car on Speedvision (one of few decent programs hopelessly bookended by
CrapCAR)... someone have a looksee and do a search? I know someone else
here has seen that episode...
