[s-cars] front end suspension question - help

well, I do not know - we did not take it a part yet and plan is to get the
parts beforehand .... cars has about 140k miles

boots, stop buffer, bearing ordered - what about the spring disc (4A0 412
111 B) ?

same for the rear end?

I haven't done shocks on this car, done it on my ex-92 urS4 but CRS
restrictions ......

Is your damping ring bad? I have done cartridges and springs on cars with
200000 plus miles and have never seen deterioration of this part. As far as
which one, I've never paid attention and/or don't recall. I wash them, lube
with some silicone paste, and put it back. Rubbing with paint thinner on a
rag makes them like new after a soap and water wash. When you get them this
clean it is easy to spot any deterioration. I am assuming you are removing
the entire strut assembly to do this job? A good time to bead blast
everything that shows corrosion and repaint with satin black. You will need
new shock boots for sure as well as new strut bearings usually. It's a good
idea @ $20 each to go ahead and replace the bearing as long as you are
there. Give the hubs a spin to check the bearings there as well.
