A whole 'nother subject.... Lots of BTDT without much success. The feed line
and the restrictor in it to the turbo has to be maintained in terms of design
and pressure. This has to do with the boundary layer of oil pressure around
the bearings. I always figured more oil to the bearings was better. What I
found was that small changes in oil feed oriface (pipe or restrictor/diffusers)
could make a difference between a smoker and a non smoker turbo. I also
suspect that many of the early ball bearing turbos that went on audi applications
suffered from this problem.
Proceed with caution here Gary. Make sure you do your homework.
