yes this is true.

my mechanic has done a couple of these and he says "it is so easy, I am 
surprised more of you guys don't find more wrecked neuS4's and do the 
swap."

pretty definitive for me. i will be doing this on my 95.5 avant when 
the time has come.(know on wood)
