[s-cars] Porsche Big Reds or Big Blacks

I was under the impression that the G60s were foisted on the
US-spec S-cars due to the customer complaints regarding the
internal caliper UFO brakes.

'92 and '93 RoW UrS cars came with the UFO brakes with the later
change to the Lucas/Girling "HP2" 2-piston 4-pad brakes as used
in the S4tt and A6 2.7T.

I've noticed an improvement in stopping ability going from UFOs
to 996 calipers and 320x30 rotors. Noted improvement, so much
that I can actuate ABS on dry pavement, very difficult to do so
with the UFOs with my wheel/tire setup.
