[s-cars] Losing hydraulic oil from power steering pump

Hello,

I have a slow leak of hydraulic oil from the power steering / brake boost pump on my '95 S6. At first, I thought it was the fitting at the top of the pump (see photo: http://volcano.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tachyon/Audi/Dscn2273.jpg). I have tightened that fitting as much as I dare and the leak persists. There is a plug in the top of the pump with a recessed cross (see the photo again) that I assume works with a special tool for installation and removal. I tried tightening this plug by grinding a cold chisel to fit one leg of the cross "+" and was not able to budge it. I'm about 300 miles from the nearest Audi dealer. I would like to find a way to stop this leak without making the drive.

I have another question relating to the same vehicle. There is a device that I presume to be a valve body that sits on top of the turbo (the waste gate valve perhaps, here's another photo... http://volcano.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tachyon/Audi/Dscn2275.jpg). There is an open barbed fitting on the back side of this device that I assume should have a hose connected to it. The car runs smooth and strong and as far as I know this barbed fitting has been without a connected hose since I bought the car several years ago. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Any insight on either of these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill de Alva
