Um, yes.

Call AT&T, er Comcast and ask them what the *basic* package costs. It should
be about six bux. They won't tell you about this package, but if you
ask...and ask...and ask...you *can* buy it. $40 *is* highway robbery.

Comcast runs a filter at the house end to keep cable and Internet separate.

Then call RCN and ask them what Internet (and no cable) costs. RCN does not
require a filter and guess what...cable tv is on the cable. You do need to
invest in a Y connector (about .98 US at Radio Shack) to run separate feeds
to your cable modem and to your television.

When the guy came to install my RCN Internet, he gave me the Y connector :)

Guess he was pleased that I had already run *all* of the wires inside the
house, to the computers and to the 8 way tv splitter. I think I saved him
about 4 hours of inside work (that he of course took at the local
Starbucks).
