[s-cars] locked out of trunk-need help!

Gentlemen and Paul K,

My wife hid some of the kids’ Christmas presents in the trunk of my 93 S4.
She tried to retrieve them two nights before Christmas, long after the kids
were asleep.  Put the key in the lock and turned it and opened the trunk.
At that point my 6-year old walked into the garage, so she closed the trunk.
Upon trying to get back in to the trunk, the lock barrel does not turn, and
the trunk is locked.  Lock is only about 18 months old.  Tried graphite.
Tried jiggling it.  No luck.  I don’t hear the trunk lock trying to open
with the pneumatic system.  Was able to get some of the smaller presents out
through the ski sack.
Any hints/suggestions on how to get into the trunk or remove the lock?

She did go out Christmas Eve and re-purchase some of the gifts
several at
50% off
so there is a silver lining!
