[s-cars] RE: Leaky Sunroof

Jed,

I think you are parking the car nose upward. Water collects in the
gutters of the sunroof and goes out the drain when the water reaches
them. But when you put the car flat or nose downward all the water
rushes to the front and cannot go out the drains fast enough. So that
which cannot go out spills into the car.

Solution: When expecting rain park the car nose downward.

Subject: [s-cars] RE: Leaky Sunroof

I seem to remember a post about this awhile back, but cannot find the
final resolution.
The sun roof on my 92 S4 leaks.

I found the drains at the front of the sun roof and cleared them out
with compressed air. Are their drains at the rear as well?

There appears to be two issues.

1) Water falling directly from the sides of the sun roof onto my wife in
the passenger seat

2) Water coming through the sun roof switch/dome light assembly.

If I have the foresight to wipe away the water from the roof before I
take off, it does not come in through the roof, but it still comes
through the dome light switch area. I also see a little bit come
through the what appears to be the inside of the passenger "A" pillar.

Any suggestions for next steps?

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Jed
