Just in case U missed this earlier thread:
Dave Waved-
"Any hints/suggestions on how to get into the trunk or remove the lock?"
and Pizzo Pied-
"Not again.
You suck at life, Mr. Burig."
Lol
I wonder if these holiday lovesters realize that they no longer even own
S-cars?
But I digress~
WRT cats the subject at hand; I can empirically state that I have had
heat shields come loose and rattle on both the stock downpipe and the
stromung cat. What is a heat shield you may ask? It is an aluminum
skin that covers the pipe and cat too. My downpipe shield rusted out
and the strumung spot welds broke loose. I fixed the stock system by
wrapping some "titanium" wire around it and on the stromung I drilled
some holes in the flanges and tightened down some stainless screws and
nutz.
These items are the most likely cause of rattle IME.
As to passing emissions w/o cat; it was no go (in IL) after only one
joyful tank of 110 octane leaded trashed the cat. Oh was that fun! $150
later with new cat and O2 sensor, I passed no problem. (I have all the
rs2 parts.) Never one to be satisfied, I may return to my test pipe
this spring for further testing.
Cheers'
