[s-cars] IR remote working again

A few days ago my IR remote stopped woriking, and the
code resynch'ing procedure didn't help. I know this issue
popped up a few weeks ago on this list, so I must have
had a delayed reaction to the list contagion :-)

When I went to get new batteries, the old ones tested OK.
After putting the old batteries back in, the remote is now
working fine. Possibly there was some dirt or minute corrosion
on the batteries and contacts that caused the problem.
But I'm wondering if the chip in the remote has a power-on
reset that I activated by disconnecting and then connecting
the batteriies. So if the next time an IR remote stops working,
it wouldn't hurt to slide off the battery cover for a few minutes
and then slide it back to see if this helps.
