Joe,
The right and left brake pad sensors (shear elements)
are wired in series. The remaining lead of the right sensor
goes to an input on the dashboard auto-check system.
The remaining lead of the left sensor goes to a ground
point on the lower part of the left A-pillar.
By shorting the sensor leads to a good engine or body
ground and checking if the warning light goes out, you
should be able to determine if there is:
1.) a faulty ground on the left sensor lead, 2.) a break in
the left to right sensor connection, or 3.) a break in the
connection to the dashboard (or a faulty autocheck system).
