In inverse order, fitment. You may be able to kind of tell from the two
photos on the site if you were to copy, then arrange them so they are lined
up on the same page.
If that works, I think you should be able to see the SPQEM puts the turbo &
hence the exhaust down pipe plumbing & the cold side outlet in a different
spot vis-à-vis the RS2EM and Stock EM.
Last, what you can't tell from the photos is the SPQEM is set up to handle a
K27 (I guess you would call it) hot side vs. the stock & RS2EM's K26
casting.
So your existing down pipe & K26 hot side setups won't bolt right up. I
can't comment on how far off the install might place the cold side outlet
vis-à-vis the stock x-over pipe etc., since my BTDT experience we had
already done away with the stock X-over plumbing. FWIW, I believe Northern
European in Concord NH has made an adapter to allow a K26 hot side to mate
to the significantly larger (@ 1cm or so diameter, I don't recall exactly)
SPQEM. Alternatively you can re-machine some, but perhaps not all, K26
turbo housings to fit if you don't want to move directly into KKK's K27
family of turbochargers.
Last, if all the above is a clear as mud, you can go look at a SPQEM, and
install thereof, on my Green car currently up at ASW. Moving the turbo,
unless you find a really, really small replacement, means your factory air
box will no longer fit :-), so you need to work around that too.
As for flow, well ???? who really knows. Maybe someone else on the list can
offer some insight or has a quote or two from one of the German horses
mouths. I've heard different figures & descriptions, but nothing I could
verify of find much more than anecdotal support or factual basis for. FWIW,
there appear to be some little "turning" vanes or flow guides ?? cast inside
the collector and the SPQEM certainly appears to offer substantially more
outlet area over a stock or RS2EM. OTTO, final exhaust outlet area is also
ultimately governed by the turbocharger housing you slap on the manifold.
The best piece of factual data I can offer you is the SPQEM weighs @ 2x the
stock & RS2 versions, @ 36+ lbs and also requires its own brace that mounts
to the right side engine motor mount, and for the Italian "famiglia" quota
on the list, "Really ought to be able to stop a .45 caliber slug from making
it into the passenger compartment if hit from the front ..."

~Gents,
~ Which EM is the better flowing EM of the two? I see the
~Sport Quattro manifold is about 300 bucks more then the RS2. Any
~fitament issues?
