This is quite interesting reading....Our politicians seem to have
provided themselves quite a great retirement plan. I strongly oppose
the fact that they can vote themselves a pay increase, and other
perks..We as their employer should have the power to vote on this.

Now

Calling Social Security a retirement plan is incorrect, it is not and
never was designed to be a plan to provide retirement income. It was
designed as a "safety net" to provide a some amount of financial
security to the us citizens. It can provide income during times of
permanet disability, etc.

I am in no way an expert on the Social Security system, but I do know
that it is only there to supplement a retiremetn plan. Unfortunately
alot of people believe it is a retirement plan, and consequently don't
plan on providing for their own retirement income needs.
