As you might have guessed, it's the new kid who gets the job of changing
oil. The more skilled techs are working on more lucrative jobs.

This is why I never let other people change my oil. I don't care if it's
free or just as cheap as just buying the fluids and doing it yourself. I
just don't let other people touch my car except when necessary, and even
then never a dealer, just a mechanic I have built up a relationship with.

Subject: [s-cars] Oil Filter Troubles
More of a general question to everyone- any problems with
dealerships overtightening oil filters?
I went to change the oil on the A4 today and the oil filter
was on there so tightly that it just wouldn't come off- to
the point that the oil filter wrench crushed the filter, nearly
broke it in two and I only managed maybe 1/4 turn with all of
that effort.
Now the car has been flatbedded to a local garage to try and
get the filter off the car.
I only install oil filters 1/4 turn past the gasket contacting the
housing, never had a problem with that technique, I guess some dealers
must somehow install filters with an impact wrench.
The dealership in question is Palisades Audi in Nyack, NY. I will never
recommend them for service as long as their current personnel are there.
I'm going to be contacting AoA (however useless it may be) to see what
can be done... first, spilled brake fluid all over the reservoir and
around
the master cylinder, as well as the wheels; second, installed the
undertray
with three missing Dzus fasteners; third, scratched the wheels because
they
can't figure out how to remove an OEM Audi centercap from the matching
OEM
Audi wheel; now this.
